What we've been up to...

Last night was my "Mommie's night out" -J didnt do well, he was fine and then the babysitter showed up and his whole attitude changed, he was reaching for me from her and just kinda fussing, i attempted to feed him before we left and he didnt want that, nothing new if you have heard my griping about my "non-eater" but just his over all personality was tense and confused. My little guy knew something was up, Paolo descirbed him as "nervous". Tania is Paolos neice and has kept J before while i have run to the BX but she was wonderful with him, dispite the fussing.

Today we set out with my friend to find Easter Decor, i think we are hoping it will make spring come!!!!! we did find some cute things. but no spirng yet, just FOG (nebbia) in italian. Althouhg my Tulips have sprouted :)

Jacob and i then went to the church and packed packages for 5 of our church service spouses that are currently deployed, Josh being inlcuded but we are going to save his and send it after he returns, no he hasent arrived yet but we dont expect him till end of next week.

5 times-

Ok so i do not think he is old enough to label yet BUT i think we might have a biter! I know Jacob is teething but he has clamped down on my arms and today my shoulder, 5 times now. OH PLEASE LORD not a BITER

Any adivce other then what i have already heard about biting him back? sorry i dont think a 9 month old would comprehend this.

Jacob is getting so curious about the ways his legs can bend and rotate, i hope it wont be long till he Finally gets on his knees, he did it for a few seconds today but nothing became of it.

He weighs 18 lbs and is pretty much a perfect size 12mth. most 9 mth things are too short and i ordered 12-18 mth for the spring.

THE WALKER

We got a walker, Our house is set up so that if i am in the kitchen i cant see whats going on in the living room, where Jacob spends most our time, so since there isnt any carpet in the kitchen we decided to get a walker for him to scoot around while i do dishes, dinner etc... He hasnt gotten the hang of it yet, and prefers to bounce in it like he does with his Enstien activity jumper. Thanks to Maggie and Issac for letting us have it!!!
Photo-He is clamping those teeth.

HAPPY MARCH TO ALL!!!!!!

Hey Jess~
The song is "Always Be My Baby" by Sara Evans. LOVE IT! One of my faves - brings a tear to my eyes every time. Cute walker - Adam did the same thing - bounced in it for a while before he got the hang of his but now he loves it. We love to hear what you guys are up to and see the new pics. Love on that litle guy for us and give yourself a hug too - you deserve it!

2nd time around
No there is really nothing you can do for a infant who bites, the only thing I can think of is when he does it say NO Jacob with a stern voice, it has to be different then your usual voice andput your fingers on his lips, see if that helps. I got you five onies and a new pair of slippers for J. Call me when the excitment is over with.

Really I dont think there is anything you can do for a infant biting, he is just learning wait his teeth can do. The only thing I can think of is when he does it just say NO Jacob and be stern in your voice so he knows the differents, I got you five onies and a new pair of slippers for J. Hey Jess
Paul has been going through a biting phase as well...he started it right about the same time as Jacob. Some good advice I got from a friend is in a few months when he can understand, (if he is still doing it of course) put him away from you and tell him that you don't want to be around him if he is going to bite. Paul gets extremely upset when we do this and seems to understand that biting is bad. This doesn't mean he doesn't still do it...but it has become less often that he does!! Email me soon...I am still waiting to hear back from you!!!! Take care!!!

Hey Jess,
Bubbas started to bite at around 18 months. Due to the fact that he is older I got out the Ivory soap and carried it around with me. Everytime that he would bite me I told him to bite the soap. It did not take him long to stop. Also I had to look at the situation as to why he was biting. Brawley was biting out of frustration. He did not yet have his words and he was not getting his point across to me. I am big on trying to tell him to "USE HIS WORDS". I know that Jacob is too young to do the soap but you might want to look at when he is biting tired, hungry, bored etc. Hope this helps. Jen

I just wanted to let you know that the blog jinxed me. We were at walmart last night and Bubbas took a huge chunk out of Tater's finger. Such drama in the store and I forgot the soap. He just has not bitten in such a long time. So, off to the soap isle we went. People looked at me like I was crazy, but he remembered that he does not like the soap and not to bite. He is so fun and such a handful, much different from the princess.
